Legian is a great place for the little one's for many reasons:

1. It is close to the airport. The last thing you need after that long flight is another long car drive with kids overtired, hungry and screaming in your ear. The drive to the hotels in Legian is only 15-20 minutes, meaning the chance of an unexpected traffic jam is a lot less.

2. The beach is calm, clean and has a good vibe. You can choose to rent a lounge chair with an umbrella for the day to keep yourself and your kids shaded, while you can lay and relax and they play in the sand. There is plenty of vendors walking up and down to buy some gadgets to keep the kids entertained, or even an ice cold bintang!

3. There is two large kid friendly resorts right on the beach. My pick is the Bali Mandiri resort, Legian. It has everything you need when travelling with young kids. A large pool, a sand area in the pool, bubblers, slides and a large grass area. 

Right next door you also have the Padma, Legian. It is also equipped with two very large pools, slides for the kids, a kids club and regular entertainment throughout the day to keep you and the kids entertained.
